Installing Xi Listings for Palm

 

 

  1. Install the Palm O/S updates located in the Mark-It News section of the today page or use the link below:
    1. Click on Step 1:
      http://www.advantagexi.com/download/PalmInstaller52.exe

      Open/Run the link then click on Unzip.
      This will unzip the installer files and automatically setup the connections between Advantage Xi and HotSync Manager.

       
    2. Click on Step 2:
      http://www.advantagexi.com/download/PalmXi52.exe

      Open/Run the link then click on Unzip then Close
      This will unzip the updated palm program/database files needed to run the Palm software.
       
    3. Click on Step 3:
      http://www.advantagexi.com/download/XiListings.exe

      Open/Run the link then click on Unzip then Close
      This will unzip the updated palm program/database files needed to run the Palm software.


       
  2. Check for updates to Advantage Xi – If additional changes have been made to Mark-It Advantage Xi or the Palm Module, we will post them on the normal update method.  To Check for updates do the following:
    1. Run Mark-It Advantage Xi
    2. Click on Utilities
    3. Click on Update Xi
    4. Answer ‘Yes’ To See The Updates
    5. Click on Download get the updates.

       
  3. Install the Xi Listings for Palm software onto the Palm Device:
    1. Make sure that HotSync Manager is installed on your computer – This is the palm software that comes with the device.
      NOTE: If you have just recently installed hotsync manager – you may want to exit it by right clicking on the hotsync manager icon in the lower right system tray on your screen and choose exit – it may display a popup window asking to verify if you want to exit – place a checkmark in the lower left corner to prevent this confirmation from displaying so that the installation of Advantage Xi for Palm and other 3rd Party software does not get stuck.  This window can sometimes be behind other windows and the user is unable to see it causing the installation to not work properly.  Once hotsync is unloaded – Advantage xi will reload it during the installation process.
    2. Run Mark-It Advantage Xi
    3. Click on the Palm Icon at the top of the screen
    4. Click on Options Tab
    5. Place a checkmark in "Automatically Start Xi Listings Sync"
    6. Click on [Setup Advantage Xi for Listings]
    7. Click on Install > Advantage Xi Listings for Palm
    8. Select the Correct User Name from the dropdown list then press Install…
    9. HotSync Manager will Restart
    10. Press the HotSync button on the cradle to begin the install process.
    11. Press the HotSync button again to setup the user connections between Advantage Xi and the Palm
    12. Press the HotSync one last time to transfer the data
    13. Once this is complete you can close the Mark-It Advantage for Palm window and remove the palm from the cradle.
