Vista

Microsoft's new Windows Vista Operating System requires a few extra steps to setup Advantage Xi.

1. One of the system files is no longer included in the operating system (DHTML.OCX):  This Microsoft file can be downloaded from the Microsoft website at the following location:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=b769a4b8-48ed-41a1-8095-5a086d1937cb&displaylang=en
    
2. Install Mark-It Advantage Xi from CD or Download the demo from our website: www.AdvantageXi.com
    
3. Running Windows Vista a user by default no longer has admin rights. Several features in Advantage Xi require Admin rights in order to run properly.
   There are 2 methods of fixing this issue (1 - running the software as Administrator  or  2 - Turn OFF the User Account Control)
   IMPORTANT:  If you do not do this step the system will report the following error:  The requested operation requires elevation.
   
   To fix the problem:
   1) Run Advantage Xi as Administrator: (Does Not Require Reboot BUT Some Vista Issues Still Exist)

a) Right-Click on the Mark-It Advantage Xi icon located on the desktop
b) Choose 'Properties' from the menu
c) Click on the 'Compatibility' tab
d) At the bottom of the window in the Privilege Level section, place a  check in 'Run this program as an administrator'

2) Turn OFF User Account Control (Preferred FIX)
          a) Start > Control Panel > User Accounts
          b) Click on the Link to "Turn ON/OFF User Account Control"
          c) UNCHECK the Option to Use User Account Control and Confirm That You Want To Do It
          d) REBOOT when asked.
 

4. Run Mark-It Advantage Xi as usual - Making sure to do all updates (Utilities > Software Update)
5. Setup Advantage Xi as the Default Program for the "MailTo:" Command

   Open/Run this registry file and ADD it to the registry
