There is an invisible grid of 5 Pixels by 5 Pixels on the screen for the Screen Designer. When you have that option turned on, every time you place an item on the screen, it will be lined up to the nearest grid square. This is useful if you are trying to line everything up by eye, without going in and modify each item's Top or Left property.
You might not want to have the snap to Grid option on if you are trying to put several things on the screen, or you want things closer together than the 5 X 5 grid.

The Workspace is the area that is displayed in the database when you select the tabbed option. Dragging controls into this area is a simple as clicking on a control, holding the mouse button down, and pulling the control to the area of the screen where the you want the control. You can fine tune the location of each control by using the Control Option screen (see below).
The controls represent the functionality of the screen you are creating. Each of the controls you use can be mapped to merge fields allowing you the freedom to design very personalized merge documents.
