ATTENTION ALL ADVANTAGE XI USERS
Over the past week and a half, many users having Godaddy Email accounts have
experienced email sending issues. The problem happens when Advantage Xi connects
to the Godaddy SMTP Server to send email, it connects and then the server drops
the connection without producing an error. In the process of trying to make a
workaround for this issue, we posted updates that caused a secondary problem
which resulted in sending problems for some non-Godaddy users.
We have posted updates to correct the problem - If you have been having email
sending problems, please check for updates (Utilities > Update Software) and
download the latest files. When you come back into Advantage Xi after doing
updates you may still get an error that pops up (Error 5) – Simply go into the
Advantage Xi Email module and look in your OUTBOX. Delete the LAST Email in the
list or Drag/Drop this email into the SEND ERRORS folder and try to send emails
again. If you still are unable to send emails then Exit Advantage Xi and Come
back in and try the send again. The last email in the list was not able to be
sent for some reason and the attempted fix for GoDaddy tried to process it which
resulted in creating the problem.
We are very sorry for the problems that this caused. We will try harder to
prevent this kind of error in the future. If you have called in for support and
not been contacted yet, please forgive us, we are not ignoring you… The
unusually high support call volume has adversely affected our ability to get to
you in a timely manner.
